Youth Ministries

Our spiritual model is centered on Jesus Christ -
Who taught that whoever wants to be a leader, must be a servant.

Urban Concern seeks to provide for the spiritual needs of students of all ages in our community.  At every step, our goal is to help students live out Jesus’ calling to love God, love others, and make disciples of all nations.

Below lists the spiritual opportunities available to our students based on age and development level.

Elementary

Childrens Church – Every Sunday @ Harambee Community Center, 11-12pm.

Our children’s program ranges from infant through fifth grade. Our volunteer team leads age-appropriate lessons with fun activities. Here, children experience, learn about, and grow in the truth and love of Jesus Christ. They also grow in their ability to relate with one another in a loving way.

Children’s Church was established to serve parents in our adult home groups, and has expanded to serve the children in the community. Children’s Church takes place at @ Harambee Community Center in South Linden, every Sunday from 11:00 – 12 noon.

Middle School

AMP – Every Sunday @ 4th Street Pavilion, 11-12pm.
Students in fifth through eighth grade meet every Sunday at the 4th Street Pavilion for the exciting AMP (A.M. Pavilion).  Here students play games, music, and listen to engaging and relevant Bible teachings.

Boys & Girls Small Groups
Students in fourth through eighth grade also have the opportunity to meet in gender-based small groups for fellowship and Bible study.  These small groups are led by dedicated volunteers who are committed to seeing the students grow in their relationships with each other and with Jesus.

Mentoring
Students in 4th – 12th grade are eligible to participate in our mentoring program, where they are matched up with another individual to develop a spiritual friendship and grow in their relationship with God and others.
